I created this page as a landing page for all the endeavors that myself and my wife are involved in. I struggle to make ends meet as most of America does. I worked for 10 years in the sawmill industry after I faithfully served 3 years in the Army for the country I believe in until the infamous spotted owl forced out most of the lumber industry.
Then I moved to one of the local Aluminum Smelters and worked there for another 10 years until the rising cost of operation forced the Aluminum industry in our local area out. Before the Aluminum plant job was history I started a computer shop as a hobby that I enjoyed, as the Aluminum plant started reducing production I opted to go to school and get my computer science degree.
I have been operating the computer shop for 14 years now, and still enjoy it. The local area we live in has only so many computers in it and as time taught us how to use them it has also taught a lot of people to repair them, in turn has slowed down the business that provides me and my family with income to survive.
Cybertime Computers
Cybertime was founded in The Dalles,Oregon in 1998 after many trips around town looking for someone that had computer supplies, then it became apparent that this town also needed a repair service, then it all began. Cybertime started out reselling used computers, then repair became something that was immediately needed. A internet cafe was introduced as Cybertime Cafe.... well you know how new things are, it was a difficult issue. Cars came into this generation hard and so did the internet cafe. It is not so uncommon now, but we retired that endeavor long ago, WIFI is the main stay now as well as smart phones that cover what a WIFI hot spot can not.
Classic Carriages
Classic Carriages is a Horse drawn carriage company that was started in The Dalles also by desire. My wife Carrie Swearingen had such a passion to have a horse and carriage she decided to purchase a Visa Vie (face to face) carriage and attach her horse to it and go have fun, and she did just that, 5 years have passed now since she started and she is more passionate about her horse and carriage company now that she has grown her horse supply to 5 horses and is looking for another carriage to add to her business.

Columbia Gorge.info is a web site I have started and have been playing with for awhile. I have started a Facebook page with the sole purpose to connect as many people in the Gorge with as much information about business's and events going on in and around the Gorge.
